How does a bevel gear work?
Bevel gears are used to transmit forces or torques.
A bevel gear consists of at least two bevel gears whose axes are at a certain angle to each other.
The bevel gears can have the same or different sizes. This depends on the number of teeth, the module and the resulting transmission ratio.
At igus®, we offer bevel gears with different transmission ratios, which can be mounted at an axis angle of

In combination, bevel gears can run both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
How do I choose the right bevel gear combination?
When selecting, it is important to ensure that the bevel gears have the same module and match each other in the desired transmission ratio.
The bevel gears differ in terms of the number of teeth, module and transmission ratio.
At igus® you can obtain 7 different modules:
1, 1,5, 2, 2,5 3,3,5
and 6 different transmission ratios:
1:1, 1:1,5, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5
Reworking of our bevel gears is possible. (e.g. keyway, thread or a larger bore diameter)
